Online poker has become world celebrated recently, with televised tournaments and celebrity poker game shows. Its popularity, though, stretches back quite a bit further than its TV ratings. Over the years several types on the original poker game have been created, including a few games that are not really poker anymore. Caribbean stud poker is one of these particular games. Regardless of the name, Caribbean stud poker is more closely resembling 21 than traditional poker, in that the gamblers wager against the house rather than each other. The succeeding hands, are the traditional poker hands. There is no conniving or other kinds of boondoggle. In Caribbean stud poker, you are expected to ante up prior to the croupier broadcasting "No more wagers." At that instance, both you and the bank and of course all of the other players receive 5 cards. After you have seen your hand and the casino’s 1st card, you must in turn make a call bet or bow out. The call wager’s amount is equal to your original bet, meaning that the stakes will have doubled. Giving Up means that your bet goes directly to the house. After the bet is the face off. If the house doesn’t have ace/king or better, your bet is given back, plus a figure equal to the ante. If the house does have ace/king or better, you succeed if your hand beats the bank’s hand. The dealer pays chips even with your ante and fixed expectations on your call wager. These expectations are:
- Even for a pair or high card
- two to one for 2 pairs
- three to one for three of a kind
- 4-1 for a straight
- 5-1 for a flush
- seven to one for a full house
- twenty to one for a four of a kind
- fifty to one for a straight flush
- 100-1 for a royal flush
