Pai Gow Poker is a current game with ancient origins. Based on the old Chinese tile game and the current American adaptation of poker, Pai Gow poker combines the eastern with the western in an excellent game for new players.
Pai Gow is a poker game that puts the gambler vs. the croupier, unlike almost all other poker games that players play with other players. By playing against the dealer, new players do not have to worry about other, more knowledgeable players winning their $$$$.
An additional Pai Gow benefit is the relatively leisurely game play, newcomers will be able to take their time and plan without needing to make frenzied choices.
It is also much simpler to play for an extended time with only a little amount of money after all, to not win, each of your hands has to be under both of the dealer’s hands.
Pai Gow is played with 53 cards; the regular 52-card standard deck and one joker. The gambler is given seven cards face up and the house gets 7 cards faces hidden.
A five card hand and one 2 card hand have to be made from the 7 cards dealt, the 5 card hand has to be higher than the two card hand. To win, a player is required to have both of his hand totals to be better than the houses.
